A Four-Day Weekend in Miami: Best Midwest Travel Spots
What’s the first thought that pops into your mind when you think of Miami? Let me guess- it’s the Cocaine Cowboys to night parties and raucous beaches!
But what if I tell
you Miami is beyond all these!
Confused?
Not anymore! As in
this post, we shall explore Miami, among the best Midwest cities to visit, in our four-day weekend trip.
So, hold your seats while we bring the adventure to unfold. Keep reading!
Day 1: Downtown, Design District, and Wynwood
Right when you
reach here, begin your journey with the gorgeous Wynwood Walls- a typical
outdoor museum with large-scale murals and paintings from some of the world’s
most famous street artists. Spend time with memorable clicks and explore some
of the renowned local cafes and restaurants.
You can even head
to Grafitti Museum if you are an avid art lover looking for the best in-depth
experience!
After that, check
out Design District, a place for exploring high-end fashion boutiques, art
galleries, and home décor stores.
If you do not want to get flown
with loose pockets, try a casual walk here and witness some ultra-modern
architecture, including the Fly’s Eye Dome and the Institute of Contemporary
Art in the Design District (free access).
Day 2: Little Havana and Bayside
Next day, head to
Little Havana- a vibrant neighborhood with vast Cuban culture, history, and
architecture. Get swayed away by the lively atmosphere of the area, and of
course, eat a lot of delicious food. You can then visit CalleOcho (8th Street
on the signs) here to try Cuban cuisines at the local shops, restaurants, and
cafes, such as the famous Cuban sandwich and Mojito cocktail.
Then turn yourself
toward MaximoGomez Park to play Dominoes and enjoy the warm Miami weather (by the top
lifestyle bloggers in Kansas City).
Lastly, you can
enjoy unforgettable live music and dance performances on the street sides of
Little Havana with several bars and clubs. What’s more interesting, you can
explore these in the daytime too.
Then make your way
toward the Bayside Marketplace- an outdoor mall featuring 150 shops,
restaurants, and bars. Grab something to eat here. Although it can be
incredibly costly, owing to their tourist-centric businesses, yet utterly
delicious- believe me!
Try speedboat rides for the
high-adrenaline experience and the mystique Biscayne Bay to get gorgeous views
of the Miami skyline and celebrity homes on the outlying islands.
Day 3: Day Trip to the Everglades
On the third day, take a day
trip to Everglades National Park- home to some of the most popular animal
species like alligators, panthers, and manatees. For an unforgettable
experience, take an airboat ride and get close to them.
Day 4: South Beach
On the final day,
you can unwind under the sunshine on South Beach, with Miami's iconic stretch
of white sands.
Try some water
activities like sea-kayaking, snorkeling, and para-surfing.
Post that, head to Lincoln Road
with the Pedestrian Mall, lined with a great variety of art galleries,
restaurants, and souvenirs.
Bonus Tip:
If you are a budget traveler
and still want to explore this lively American City, grab the Go Miami pass
from the Go City website. This pass can give you access to all the hot tourist
spots mentioned above without losing too much on your credit card bills.
Final
Thoughts!
We hope you like my
stuff! So, gearing up for your next getaway here? Preferably try in-between
December to May, as the weather is warm and mostly dry at this point. Although be
prepared for some high-humidity levels if you happen to visit at other
months.
